Distal- to- proximal sequential ICG injection technique (DOPSIT) for lymphatic vessels mapping

چکیده
Supermicrosurgical lymphaticovenular anastomosis (LVA) is the most sought-after procedure among lymphedema patients. However, same enthusiasm currently not shared surgeons due to lackluster results of LVA. The common unfavorable experience with this famed at least partially caused by difficulty in finding lymph vessels. We share our time-tested indocyanine green-based vessel mapping technique, which has helped us establish LVA as for all fluid-predominant lymphedema.

Blood flow reprograms lymphatic vessels to blood vessels.
Human vascular malformations cause disease as a result of changes in blood flow and vascular hemodynamic forces. Although the genetic mutations that underlie the formation of many human vascular malformations are known, the extent to which abnormal blood flow can subsequently influence the vascular genetic program and natural history is not. Loss of the SH2 domain-containing leukocyte protein o...

SIR,-No treatment is available for tackling the underlying cause of secondary lymphoedema due to dissection of the lymphatic pathway at a specific site.’ A bypass within the lymphatic system seems the most promising way to eliminate the cause for swollen legs in the early stages of the disease, but materials other than lymphatic collectors cannot maintain an adequate lymph flow over a long peri...
متن کاملChallenging the distal-to-proximal cannulation technique for administration of anticancer therapies: a prospective cohort study.
BACKGROUND Distal-to-proximal technique has been recommended for anticancer therapy administration. There is no evidence to suggest that a 24-hour delay of treatment is necessary for patients with a previous venous puncture proximal to the administration site. OBJECTIVES This study aims to identify if the practice of 24-hour delay between a venous puncture and subsequent cannulation for antic...
متن کاملQuantitative imaging of lymphatic function with liposomal indocyanine green.
Lymphatic vessels play a major role in cancer progression and in postsurgical lymphedema, and several new therapeutic approaches targeting lymphatics are currently being developed. Thus, there is a critical need for quantitative imaging methods to measure lymphatic flow. Indocyanine green (ICG) has been used for optical imaging of the lymphatic system, but it is unstable in solution and may rap...
متن کاملSequential activation and distinct functions for distal and proximal modules within the IgH 3' regulatory region.
As a master regulator of functional Ig heavy chain (IgH) expression, the IgH 3' regulatory region (3'RR) controls multiple transcription events at various stages of B-cell ontogeny, from newly formed B cells until the ultimate plasma cell stage. The IgH 3'RR plays a pivotal role in early B-cell receptor expression, germ-line transcription preceding class switch recombination, interactions betwe...
